Happy Valley Dance Conservatory

At Happy Valley Dance Conservatory, our mission is to provide a joyful and educational experience in students’ dance journey, encourage more people to enjoy dancing, guide students in their physical, mental, artistic and emotional development. Classes focus on clarity of neat position and quality of movement, to help students develop, strengthen and perfect dance technique, and nurture each student's potential for success.

Liza Yuen is a professional ballet and Chinese dance dancer and an experienced instructor. She has been teaching dance for more than 17 years in Asia and the United State. Liza taught advanced ballet and other levels as well as character dance class at Performing Arts School of Central Pennsylvania (PASCP), and also served as one of the program coordinators at PASCP. Liza has trained dancers who have been accepted to programs with School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Bolshoi Ballet, Ballet Magnificat!, Chautauqua Institution and others. Besides ballet, Liza also played a crucial role in introducing traditional Chinese dance culture to the local community of State College, PA. She was a senior instructor of the Happy Valley Chinese School for 7 years and had coached the Penn State University classical Chinese dance team. With the support of friends and the community of State College PA, Liza started the Happy Valley Dance Conservatory (HVDC) and provided exceptional technical dance training in a positive environment for students of all ages and levels from beginner through pre-professional. HVDC has numerous successful performances, including dance dramas “the Legend of Mulan” and “Journey to the West”. Then Liza moved to Massachusetts with her husband because of his work. HVDC is dedicated to offer professional ballet and Chinese dance programs in the South Shore of Massachusetts.

Liza began her classical ballet training under Ms. Ng Sheung Ha, a renowned former instructor of the National Ballet of China and Hong Kong Ballet. Liza was trained under Royal British principles and awarded distinction in the Royal Academy of Dance in advanced level. Liza also obtained the registered teacher certification by the Hong Kong Government under the education ordinance, plus Grade 8 piano award by the associated board of the royal schools of music (A.B.R.S.M.). She served at non-profit kindergartens for more than 8 years in Hong Kong. Liza is experienced and passionate in teaching, and excellent to work with young students.
